Co-op Easter Program

Yvetta was very tired during the program - probably a combination of the time of day (mid-afternoon) and the McDonald's hamburger, root beer and sundae she'd had for lunch......very red, sticky cheeks and droopy eyes :) But, as she does when she needs lovin' and I'm busy, she went to one of her brothers. This time it was Corin and she took her blankie and laid down in his lap. He was, as usual, very accomodating and but his arms around her :)
Anyway, I digressed there.......yes - the program....
Luke reading from Luke.....

Luke's good friend, Mark, reading from Matthew..... and Laura reading from Luke (while Freda contemplates it all with closed eyes, Luke looks rather nervous about it all and Agnes laughs :)
The little play took place during these readings. We have the angels at the tomb, telling the women to not be afraid, for He had risen!!
Out of order, but here are the women falling on their faces before the brilliance of the angels.
The guards, who fell as dead men, before these glorious messengers of God.
3 women (2 actually mentioned, but we had 3 volunteers, so what could we do - and Yvetta needed Elizabeth to hold her hand :)
Off to the left of our impressive violin players is Kara - she gave up an afternoon of her busy life to play the piano for us.
Some incredible talent in our small co-op group! Below is Brett - another good friend of Luke's. Yvetta calls him "Bread", but he's very good natured about it :)
All songs to commemorate our Father's love for us, in that, while we were yet sinners Christ died for us. "And can it be that I should gain, an interest in the Saviour's blood; died He for me who caused His pain; for me, who Him, to death pursued. Amazing love, how can it be!"

We did a lot of group singing as well - such a joy to sing praises together. Below, Kevin recited/read Psalm 23 and Freda kindly MC'd the whole program for us.

Co-op - Easter Theme

For Easter, with our co-op, we got together on Friday morning and kept moving until late afternoon! Whew - what a day! But it was wonderful and such a neat way to serve the Lord by serving the people around us. We started off, at the church we rent, making cards. Many cards. Close to 100! But we had purpose. We were on our way to a nursing home to do an Easter program and also to hand out our cards to the residents.
These kids worked very hard! And cheerfully :) it was neat to see them putting the work into something meant for someone else. Looking up Bible passages to use, writing carefully, gluing and designing with a lot of creativity. Thinking about the message of salvation while putting it down on paper for the benefit of others.

A bedtime song... Psalm 103

This is Vetta's favourite song to sing before bed... Excuse some of the video - some of it is a bit corny.

Whiteshell Provincial Park

We finally got out to the Whiteshell which is only about an hour and a half from Wpg. This huge park is part of the Boreal forest in the Canadian shield, on the eastern side of MB. During the winter months, the main road is plowed to let people into the resorts. People come in the summer months to camp. It reminds us of Algonquin. Some of the ice on Barrier Bay is starting to melt with the rising currents. We almost stayed here at a resort one time but instead ended up going to Steinbach (a little closer and little cheaper). Officially it is spring in MB, but we have had more snow than usual, and there's still lots of it on the ground - mainly in the shade... But the sun is melting it!!!

Whiteshell

We had our camera... unfortunately.... the memory card was left behind. We did see some incredible animals. These are the main ones.... We saw two racoons walking on the frozen rivers, looking for food through the thinning ice...
A gray jay flew down to our hands to eat bread and bird seed. It's a beautiful bird...
We also saw deer... lots of deer... There is no shortage of these here.

"From whose womb comes the ice? And the frost of heaven, who gives it birth? The waters harden like stone, And the surface of the deep is frozen.... Can you hunt the prey for the lion, Or satisfy the appetite of the young lions, When they crouch in their dens, Or lurk in their lairs to lie in wait? Who provides food for the raven, When its young ones cry to God, And wander about for lack of food?" Job 38:29,30, 39-41

The evolution of ponytails.....

Sunday morning - just before church.......

......to Sunday afternoon, just before or just after the evening service. You take your pick. Those crazy ponytails looked just as messy before the 2nd service as they did after. To tell you the truth, I kind of like the crazy version better. It suits her personality :)
